What is a Girl's First Pearls?

A Girl’s First Pearls is ELBD’s campaign in recognition of National Etiquette Week, May 9-14, 2016. National Etiquette Week is designed to foster civility in all segments of society and ELBD wants to celebrate it by donating pearls to urban girls and youth.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make girls feel valued by providing 1,000 strands of pearls to girls across the country through partnering with local non-profit organizations.

Help us to build a girl's self-esteem by donating "A Girl's First Pearls!"

It's easy and takes less than 5 minutes to make an impact in a little girl's life. Make her feel special by donating to "A Girl's First Pearls" by helping us to "set the tone" for how she should see herself and be treated for the rest of her life. A Girl with Pearls sits up a little straighter, holds her head higher and feels better about herself.

Make your $5.00 donation for a strand of pearls, which will be distributed to girls in the ELBD Programs during National Etiquette Week. Take a picture with the "Little Princess" in your life and share on your social media page on May 10, 2016 using the hashtags #girls1stpearls and #ELBDPearls to show your support for National Etiquette Week (May 9-14, 2016). Your donations will cover necklaces, bracelets and earrings for our program participants.
